The science of Activia probiotic yoghurt and gut health

Activia helps gut health management*, reducing the frequency of minor digestive discomfort like bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort, and rumbling when consumed twice per day for at least four weeks as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Activia contains the exclusive probiotic Bifidobacterium animalis lactis CNCM I-2494, which has been shown to survive passage than 18 clinical studies and over 30 years of research on gut health, you can feel confident recommending Activia to your patients.

Clinical Studies of Activia with B. Lactis CNCM I-2494

A key feature of the Activia clinical studies is that they have been performed on the yoghurt itself, not simply the probiotic strain. Two double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled studies, as well as a pooled analysis of these in reducing the frequency of minor digestive issues like bloating, gas, rumbling, and discomfort. Both (GI) outcomes, including GI well-being and frequency of minor digestive issues, in healthy women lacking any diagnosed GI disorders.

In both studies, and in the pooled analysis, the composite score of the frequency of minor digestive issues over the two- and four-week test periods in the Activia group was significantly lower (p<0.05) than in the control group, who consumed a non-fermented dairy product with low content of lactose (lactose content similar to Activia).
